Chad O’Neil is the Founder and Operator of SkateTech Skate Sharpening & Equipment Repair. With over 20 years of sharpening and customizing experience at the recreational, junior, and professional levels, O’Neil most currently worked part time as the Head Equipment Manager for CarShield AAA Hockey of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) and Maryville University Saints (ACHA DII) in St. Louis, MO. He served 6 seasons (2011-2017) as an Assistant Equipment Manager for the St. Louis Blues in the National Hockey League. Prior to joining the Blues, Chad served as Head Equipment Manager of the Jr. A St. Louis Bandits of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) for 2 seasons. During that time, he was named Head Equipment Manager for 2 NAHL Top Prospects Tournaments, won the Chuck Robertson Cup in 2008, and again reached the Chuck Robertson Cup Finals in 2009. From 2005-2011, O’Neil worked in hockey retail as Head of Hockey Sales & Operations at Johnny Mac’s Sporting Goods in St. Louis, MO. Chad started working at the age of 15 at U.S. Ice Sports Complex in Fairview Heights, IL as a skate guard and pro shop employee where he grew up playing youth hockey for the Southern Illinois Ice Hawks. He would go on to play 4 years of Varsity hockey at Belleville East High School in Belleville, IL and play Junior B Hockey for the St. Louis Lightning of the Minnesota Junior Hockey League (MJHL).
